Kristen Callihan

Kristen Kelley Callihan joined the firm in 2011, establishing and leading our Family Law and Criminal Law practices before accepting the firm’s partnership invitation in 2018.  Today, Kristen works alongside Scott in both the firm’s busy real estate practice and the overall management of the law firm. She is an experienced and respected real estate attorney, having conducted hundreds of real estate closings and title examinations, and is an approved attorney for the major title insurance companies in the United States.  Kristen is an exceptional and dedicated attorney, partner and leader for our law firm, and a favorite among our clients.   

Prior to joining the firm, Kristen worked as Assistant District Attorney for the 13th District. She prosecuted cases under the North Carolina Governor's Crime Commission, appearing in Domestic Violence, District, Traffic and Juvenile Courts.

Kristen obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received a B.A. in Political Science and Communications in 2005. She then earned her J.D. from the University of Richmond's School of Law in 2008.

When she is not representing clients, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband, Will, and daughter, Sophie at their home in Whiteville, North Carolina.  The three of them love being outdoors and enjoy playing with their Goldendoodle, Lucy.  Most days, Lucy can be found curled up in Kristen’s office, patiently waiting for love and attention from the rest of the office (and clients too).  Kristen is an avid reader and loves cheering on the Tar Heels!
