 M. Scott Boyles

M. Scott Boyles founded the law firm in 1991. He is the senior partner of Boyles & Callihan, PLLC, and focuses on the firm's Real Estate Law and Estate Planning practices.

Scott works alongside law partner Kristen and our experienced team of real estate paralegals to ensure that every closing is seamless, on-time and on-budget. He is approved legal counsel to every major title insurance company in the nation, working closely with real estate clients, lenders, and agents for more than thirty years to ensure professional and on-time real estate closings. Scott truly appreciates the opportunity to personally meet and sit down with clients when the big day arrives.

When it comes to estate planning, Scott works closely with our clients and team - listening to concerns, answering questions, and designing/assembling the best estate plans for our clients and their families. Estate planning may result in anything from a simple Last Will and Testament to a Revocable Living Trust. We also carefully draft robust and comprehensive powers of attorney for healthcare and general financial needs, as well as advance care directives and living wills.

Scott earned his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.A. 1987, English and Psychology), and his law degree with Honors at the University of North Carolina Central School of Law (J.D. 1991). He is an active member in the community, volunteering time and expertise to many worthy causes.

Scott most enjoys time spent with family - his wife Stephanie, their two adult sons Mason and Jackson, and Jack (the dog). He and Stephanie enjoy traveling and camping in their Winnebago EKKO throughout America and enjoying its’ thousands of National Parks and State Parks, endurance swimming, cycling and racing Ironman triathlons.

And, like law partner Kristen, Scott loves cheering on the Tarheels!
